First Baptist Church Brownsville has been hosting mission teams for over 40 years.  Our goal has always been to serve as a “staging center” for mission work in the Rio Grande Valley and Mexico by offering affordable, effective mission opportunities to participants of all ages.  It is our prayer that these mission trips will be life-changing for all involved.
Hendrick Mission Center
Formerly known as the “Mission Outreach Center”, the Hendrick Missions Center (HMC) is located on 2.5 acres of land near the First Baptist Church campus.  The HMC consists of 2 air conditioned dorms, with a total capacity of 150.  The center is named for Dwight Hendrick, who served for more that 25 year at the center.
Church Planting
We believe that in order to reach the world for Christ we need to plant churches. FBC is a Church Planting Center for the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas. With the help of the SBTC we want to see 100 churches planted in RGV by 2020. If you are interested in church planting, have any questions, or just want more information please contact us.
Reach Brownsville
The Reach Brownsville project is a strategic initiative launched by our church to reach every home in Brownsville over the next five years. We will be asking folks a few simple survey questions to gauge spiritual interest. In addition, information about FBC will be given out, invitations to special events will be extended, and the gospel will be presented.
If you’re looking for ideas for your mission trip, this would be a great way to get plugged in.
Disaster Relief
Our church is active in serving locally globally during times of natural disasters. Over the last ten years we have served in many local and global natural disasters that have occurred. FBC has over 50 trained volunteers that are ready to be sent.
We work closely with SBTC disaster relief team and the Baptist Global Relief organization.
If you are interested in being trained or want more information about DR, please contact us.
